The Theory Test

This is a two part test; the first part consisting of 50 multiple choice questions. You must answer at least 45 of these correctly and you have 40 minutes to complete it.
The second part is a "hazard perception test". You are shown 14 video clips which contain at least one developing hazard. You must click the mouse button as soon as you see a hazard developing i.e.- a hazard which may cause a driver to change speed or direction. You will be scored out of 75 and need at a score of at least 44 to pass this part of the test. You must pass both tests to obtain your Theory Test pass certificate. There is help available for special needs candidates.

In preparing for these tests, study the Highway Code and Theory Test CD ROMs. Being an observant passenger as well as being a fairly "experienced learner" will be of considerable benefit when taking the "Hazard Perception" test.
